An IAAPA 2000 Photo Gallery

All photos by Dave Althoff, Jr.

This is a somewhat temporary showcase for some still shots I took at IAAPA this year. All of the images are 720x486 and they are all stills taken using my video camera. Some of the more interesting stuff is not represented here as I haven't gone through the video and done captures just yet. But for now, at least, here are the photos...

There has been a lot of talk about the new and improved Gerstlauer lap bars for CCI wood coasters. Here's what they look like on an unidentified wood coaster car:

Across from the CCI booth was the Gerstlauer booth; they had this model on display...

Mack was showing a Wilde Maus car that looks like it is made of LEGO Technic pieces. Next to the real car, they had this LEGO model of the same thing. Unfortunately I don't have a still of the actual car (I'll have to capture that one from video) but the resemblance between this model and the real thing is striking!

Finally, by now everyone knows about the new Schwarzkopf cars for the Thriller (Texas Tornado at Six Flags AstroWorld) and their "TÜV-Approved" overhead restraint system. Personally, I don't like it one bit, but that's my opinion. I guess the existing system must be really bad. Here are some shots of the display car...
